In an emotional episode of reality singing competition The Voice US on May 1 (May 2 in Manila time), four contestants were sent home after they lost out to their teammates when the combined scores of the judges and America's votes were tallied.

Judge Cee Lo Green gave 60 points to rocker Juliet Simms and 40 to soul performer Jamar Rogers. After factoring in America's votes, Juliet became the last contestant standing on Team Cee Lo. Judge Adam Levine also split his points in a 60-40 ratio, giving Mickey Mouse Club alumnus Tony Lucca 60 points and office worker Katrina Parker 40. In the end, America's votes gave Tony the edge and pushed him into the finals.

Meanwhile, judges Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton both awarded their last two contestants 50 points each. Team Christina's edgy Lindsey Pavao left the competition after opera singer Chris Mann got America's votes. Team Blake's powerhouse vocalist Erin Willett also said her goodbyes after Alicia Keys's backup singer Jermaine Paul got America's votes.
