It seems Survivor fever has hit Philippine TV once again, as after premiering Survivor Philippines on GMA-7 recently, sister channel Q-11 launches Survivor: Gabon, Earth’s Last Eden today.
The 17th season of the phenomenal Emmy Award-winning show, Survivor: Gabon finds 18 castaways marooned in Gabon, Africa—one of the world’s last remaining sanctuaries of pure untouched wilderness. They will embark on an amazing adventure, trying to survive extreme conditions while attempting to forge alliances with strangers from diverse backgrounds.

A 29-year-old African-American woman who happens to be a 2004 Olympic gold medalist; a marathon-running lawyer who happens to be a gay single man living in New York City; a part-time actress and waitress, and full-time goofball; a young doctor from Florida who has been named the state of Georgia’s hottest bachelor by Cosmopolitan Magazine in 2006; and a self-described ruthless bully are among the castaways whose intriguing interaction with each other will definitely be interesting to watch!
“In a strange coincidence to Earth's Last Eden, good vs. evil emerges as a major theme this season. I think the audience will quickly identify with one group or the other,” host Jeff Probst said.
Survivor: Gabon will air every Friday. Catch its pilot episode today via satellite at 2PM and on primetime at 7:25PM, with a weekend replay every Saturday at 5:30PM on Q Channel 11.
