justin_bieber.jpgJustin Bieber’s concert in Manila might be well and over with, but Filipinos are still abuzz after a video showing the teen superstar allegedly refusing to sign a copy of his album for a Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) employee appeared on YouTube on April 11, PEP.ph reports.  Spot.PH quotes the uploader, user v7andrea on YouTube, who wrote in the video description, "My father (in neon green vest) tried to get an autograph from Justin Bieber for my sister. But take a look (at) what he did. He tapped my father's hand and the (CD) fell on the floor. Nobody from his crew helped him. Not even an apology from Justin Bieber himself."

It’s only been a few days after the upload, yet the video has already gained more than 500,000 hits and more than 6,000 comments. Filipino netizens had mixed reactions to the incident. YouTube commenter ixsiaps said Justin’s behavior was still inexcusable despite him being sick. “He could have just [ignored] the guy... What's [with] the tap? Is he really that sick????”

Meanwhile, Spot.PH commenter airport authority focused on airport protocol: “If this happened in another country (say, the U.S.), the airport employee will immediately get a pink slip (FIRED!) pronto. If an employee is on the clock and inside the secured area, nobody is allowed to bring cell phones and harass the passengers, especially [celebrities].”

Watch the video for yourself, and tell us what you think! Should Justin Bieber have signed the NAIA employee’s CD? Take our poll!

Poll Question:
Do you think Justin Bieber should have signed the airport employee's CD?
  1. Yes, of course! It doesn’t matter whether or not he was sick. He shouldn't be rude just because he's a star.
  2. Yes. It would have only taken a minute anyway. If he really didn't want to do it, he should have at least declined politely.
  3. No way! Justin was already boarding the plane. The employee shouldn't have asked him in the first place. It's unprofessional, and if it's not against the rules, it should be.
  4. No. He was sick and tired just like any other person, and he has the right to decline giving autographs if he wants to.
  5. I think they both behaved badly, so it doesn't really matter whether he should have signed or not.

I am not 100% giving sympathy to the employee of airport because I am wondering as well if they are allowed to ask some celebrities regarding the autograph. But the point is what Justin Bieber did was still RUDE and has no manners at all. Being sick and a kid is not an excuse for him to be arrogant. If he is in Hurry then he must have at least a little courtesy of saying "Sorry I can't make it" Instead of tapping the hand of a person that he doesn't have any care at all if the cd fell down or not. What he did has a big repercussion for a fact that he is a public figure. I am not expecting him to be a super good role model or perfect example especially to the youth but then courtesy and manners counts in every little things. It would reflect as well that in the near future he would be having a popularity issues as what happened to other celebrities.

People will always be people and different everywhere. Justin didnt have to be physical about it. It goes beyond being rude. And there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for being rude. Neither youth nor being tired never excuse a person from being disrespectful. And hey! These people are supposed to be his fans!!! Michael Jackson was so much bigger than Justin is ever going to be and Michael had an abusive father and an unhappy childhood career and yet, we never heard of him disrespecting anybody that way, nor being rude like that. And THAT is why Justin Bieber will never be reach the stature of MJ.
