Sharon Cuneta Welcomes Adopted Son Miguel to the Family

Sharon Cuneta and her husband, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, formally welcomed their adopted son, Miguel Samuel Mateo, into the Cuneta-Pangilinan family with a big celebration on his third birthday, October 27. The Megastar reveals that Miguel's adoption papers were processed with “no VIP treatment” at all.

PEP.ph reports that Sharon and Kiko had invited more than 200 guests, including their friends from the press, to their son’s lavish Thomas and Friends-themed party.

“Inimbitahan ko yung mga kaibigan ko sa press dahil kami nag-agree para makita niya paglaki niya na talagang ipinagmamalaki namin siya, at saka, we love him very much (I invited my friends from the press because we agreed to show Miguel how much he means to us. As he grows older, he'll come to know that we’re really proud of him and that we love him very much),” Sharon was quoted as saying in the article. “We’re so proud to be his parents, and we’re so proud of him.”

Kiko describes Miguel as a little boy who is obedient and kind, but who is also a bit naughty and hardheaded. “Kahit anong ingat namin, isang buwan tatlong beses pumuputok ang labi, e. Lalaki talaga ‘to (No matter how careful we are, he still cuts his lips three times a month. He’s really a boy!)!”

For her birthday wish for Miguel, Sharon hopes that he will grow up to become a respectable man like his father.

“My wish for you my darling baby boy is that sana you grow up to be like your dad—God-fearing, loves his family, his dad, his mom, his brothers and sisters, and of course, his wife and his children very much,” she said. “He loves you very much. And we love you. Both love you. All of us love you so much and we’re so proud to have you as, you know, the only boy in our family. And I don’t know but… maybe you are why God didn’t really give me a son to deliver kasi, you were coming.”
