Although rumors of breakups and reconciliations between actress Shaina Magdayao and actor John Lloyd Cruz have run rampant in the past several months, it was only recently that either has admitted that their relationship is officially over.
Shaina confirmed the breakup via an SMS message on Friday, May 4, reports PEP.ph. "To end all speculations, I confirm that John Lloyd and I have agreed to end our relationship,” she is quoted as saying. “The reason is purely between John Lloyd and myself. I most humbly request everyone to allow us to move on with our respective lives with mutual respect and dignity.”
ABS-CBNNews.com cites a source who said that the couple called it quits three weeks prior to Shaina’s text, but who was not able to shed light on the ultimate reasons for the breakup. While rumors have linked John Lloyd with actress Angelica Panganiban, the actress denies being the third party in their relationship. PEP.ph quotes her as having said to two of their sources, “Wala ‘yan. Imahinasyon lang ‘yan. Imbento na lang ‘yan. (It’s nothing. It only exists in imagination. Someone invented [that story]).”
The alleged link between JLC and Angelica are also rumored to be the source of the relationship problems between the actress and boyfriend Derek Ramsay. ABS-CBN mentions, however, that Derek has said he and Angelica are still trying to “work things out” and have not broken up despite speculations to the contrary.
