Sarah Lahbati Joins Avon in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

The young actress proves that she is not just another pretty face. By Jennifer Chan

Breast cancer is a cause very close to women’s hearts everywhere. Being the number one killer of Filipino women, it is important that we all join the fight against it however we can.

Sarah Lahbati, rising Kapuso star, and Avon’s representative in their Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer (KGBC) campaign says that it’s a cause she takes very personally because of her cousin who was diagnosed with breast cancer around two years ago. "I never imagined that one day the disease would happen to someone close to me," she admits.

With her confident stature, Sarah appears more mature than other teens her age. The way she encourages her friends, family members, and Facebook and Twitter followers to support the KGBC campaign shows wisdom beyond her 18 years.

When FN asked the young actress about her participation in the crusade, she answers, "First of all, I'm excited to join the events--to run, and to do what I can do to spread the word and to spread awareness. At first, I couldn't believe that they got me, I'm only 18, but then I realized that I can do something." In addition, Sarah hopes that "more individuals will realize how critical the issue is, and why it is every Filipino’s responsibility to help fight it."
