Sarah Geronimo Denies that Her Mother Fired Her Stylist and Makeup Artist

Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo has finally spoken up about the rumor that her mom, who is fondly known as Mommy Divine, had fired her stylist, Eric Pe Benito, and makeup artist, Jing Monis.

According to the “What YES! Knows: Sarah and Gerald, The Story of a Love That Might Have Been” article in the October issue of YES! Magazine, showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz said that the Eric and Jing, who had been a part of Sarah’s team for five and seven years respectively, were fired because they reportedly sided with her former suitor, Gerald Anderson.

“Day, tinanggal na si Jing Monis bilang make-up artist at si Eric Pe Benito bilang stylist ni Sarah!” Ogie was quoted as saying in the magazine. “Dahil kampi sila kay Gerald! ‘Yon ang narinig ko from my source. Kampi raw kay Gerald, kaya pinatanggal daw ni Boss Vic [del Rosario of Viva Artist Agency] (Girl, Jing Monis and Eric Pe Benito are no longer the makeup artist and stylist of Sarah! Because they sided with Gerald! That’s what I heard from my source. They sided with Gerald, so Boss Vic had them fired.).”

Eric had also confirmed the news with YES! “Na-confirm ko na lang after, when someone from Viva told me that it was a directive nga from the mom na kami daw ni Jing Monis, ‘wag nang gamitin (I was only able to confirm it after, when someone from Viva told me that it was a directive from the mom to not hire me and Jing Monis anymore),” he said.

When PEP.ph asked Sarah about it, she clarified that it was all just a big “miscommunication,” and that neither she nor her mother had fired Eric or Jing. “Never ko pong gagawin, sa pamilya namin, lalung-lalo na kami ng nanay ko, na magpapa-ban kami ng tao,” she was quoted as saying. “Sino ba naman po kaming mga powerful na tao para magpa-ban ng mga stylist? At saka mahal po namin sila (I would never, nor would my family, especially me and my mom, have a person banned. Are we powerful enough to have stylists banned? Besides, we love them.)."

"Hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung rumor na pina-ban sila,” she continued. “Ang sinasabi ko lang po, hindi po namin magagawa ‘yon… Misunderstanding at miscommunication po itong nangyayari. Sana one day maupuan namin para mapag-usapan po ito (I don't know where the rumor came from. I can only say that we wouldn't do that... What happened was just a case of misunderstanding and miscommunication. I hope that one day we'll be able to sit down and talk about this.).”
