Regine Velasquez received the
MYX Magna Award for her considerable contributions to the Philippine music industry at the
2011 I ♥ MYX Music Awards on March 15.
PEP.ph reports that the singer accepted the award in tears after a batch of young singers—
including divas Rachelle Ann Go and Kyla—performed her hit songs on the Music Museum stage. “
Sa lahat ng batang musiko... Ipagpatuloy n'yo! (To all young musicians, just continue what you’re doing!)” she is quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, rocker princess
Yeng Constantino was the star of the night, bagging
four major awards, namely
Favorite Music Video, Female Artist, Song, and Celebrity VJ. Her fifth award came in the form of the
Favorite Collaboration Award, when she shared the stage with 6 Cycle Mind and Kean Cipriano. The winners of the MYX Awards were determined through a public voting system, so Yeng made sure to give a shout-out to her fans, the Yengsters. “Thank you, everyone! Rock and roll!”
