Ageless beauty Lea Salonga reveals her stay-young secrets in the August 2016 issue (the anti-aging special!) of Good Housekeeping Philippines. Available on newsstands and bookstores nationwide.
Actress and singer Regine Velasquez, who celebrated her 42nd birthday on April 22, said she would be more active in showbiz after losing her baby weight, PEP.ph reports. “As much as possible sana, ayokong bumalik muna na medyo hindi pa ako comfortable sa sarili kong skin," she is quoted as saying. "So ayoko naman na kapag lumalabas ako ng TV, parang nai-insecure ako. (As much as possible, I don't want to make a comeback when I'm not yet that comfortable in my own skin. So I don't want appear on TV when I'm still feeling insecure.)"
Regine gave birth to Nate, her baby with husband Ogie Alcasid, in November, and she's been focusing on taking care of him in the past months. "I will work hard first to lose all the weight that I’ve gained during my pregnancy. Tapos, hopefully, mabilis lang. Siyempre, I have to take time kasi I carried the baby for nine months. Hindi naman gano’n kadali iyon. (It's not that easy.)”
Asia's Songbird also mentioned that age was a factor when it came to losing weight. "Hindi na rin ako gano’n kabata. Matanda na rin. (I'm not that young. I'm older now.) I have to be a little more patient with my body and with myself. Sana people will be patient with me also."
Regine didn't divulge how many pounds she'd like to lose. "Ayoko nang sukatin. Basta siyempre makikita mo naman sa hitsura mo, di ba? At saka kung nasusuot mo na ‘yong mga clothes, then that’s the time (I don't want to measure anything. You'll know [you've lost weight] when you look at yourself, right? And if you can wear your clothes from before, then that's the time)," she added.
The Songbird appeared on an episode of Sunday variety show Party Pilipinas on April 22 to celebrate her birthday.
