Home on a Wednesday night? No worries. Q-11 has a program that fills you in on the latest in fashion, dining, gadgets, personalities, and more. Living It Up takes you around town, to the hottest places and coolest events—even as you sit back and relax in front of the TV after a tiring work day. The show airs at 7:15PM.Yet recently, in an effort to get to know and bring together its audience for a night of fun and glam in line with its first anniversary, Living It Up tapped ace photographer Niccolo Cosme for a one-of-a-kind activity: the Headshot Clinic, a special treat for the ladies. The shoot, held last July 28, turned out to be a full-blast party, with a lot of fabulously-clad women (and even some men) lounging around as they waited for their turn at Embassy Super Club, that Living It Up host Tim Yap lent to the event.
The show’s hosts—which also include Raymond Gutierrez, Sam Oh, Issa Litton, and new music correspondent Greggy Santos—were all in attendance to witness members of their audience feel like celebrities themselves as they had their portraits taken by Niccolo and his team of photographers.
The concept of the event is simple: “We wanted to bring our viewers together for an event that’s fun, hip, and really now. All in the name of having a shoot for a really nice and special photo you could upload in your social networking sites, such as Facebook, MySpace, or Multiply. We know our audience is into this kind of things,” says Raymond Gutierrez. “It feels good to be part of this because the vibe is good, everyone looks and feels great, and hindi ko alam my friends watch my show pala, and that they registered at nandito sila!”
“We feel this is a good activity to be associated with since it brings people together in one place, and allows us to connect with our audience, at the same time connect them with other people in the different parts of Asia where Niccolo plans to do shoots as well,” says Q-11’s Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara.
Niccolo, who has been in the photography industry for eight years, started the project last year only “as a joke, when people started asking me to take their photos for their social networking accounts,” he shares. “Now in the second wave of headshots, I’m doing a One World series: I’ll be going to different parts of Asia—Manila, Saigon, Macau, Cambodia, Bangkok, Singapore, and Malaysia—to take headshots. In this way, I unite people from everywhere,” Niccolo says.
The “Go Glam” concept is the first branded headshot clinic, in which he partnered with a media outfit for the first time. There will be other concepts for the headshot clinic in the next months.
Out of so many people who registered, 400 were chosen for the special shoot and whose photos will be displayed and distributed in the unveiling party, happening on September 1, also in Embassy. The hosts themselves (plus other celebrity friends) had their own headshots taken, as displayed in the gallery below, along with a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot-cum-party.
All portraits will also be uploaded in www.headshotclinic.com.
