Writers' strike and scandals aside, 2008 made a very interesting year for entertainment.

Some of us rejoiced when the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike ended in peace and breathed life back into our favorite TV shows. A lot of us tuned in to the Summer Olympics in Beijing coverage, cheered for our favorite athletes, and rooted for Team Philippines.

Once there were over 40,000. Then there were only 18 castaways chosen to outwit and outplay each other in Survivor Philippines when it launched last September on GMA-7. After braving extreme hunger, cold, and discomfort at Devil’s Island in Thailand, there can only be one survivor in the end.
