There's another reason a lot of Filipinos look forward to Christmas Day: it marks the opening day of The Metro Manila Film Festival. This year's lineup showcases more dramas and comedies than fantasy films, contrary to recent years, with entries such as Ang Tanging Ina N'yong Lahat, Desperadas 2, Magkaibigan, One Night Only, and Baler.

The TV sitcom Iskul Bukol debuted on the silver screen with most of the original cast members in tow, while Shake, Rattle and Roll returned for its tenth installment. It would also be interesting to watch Dayo, the only animated film entry, which features the singing voice of international star Lea Salonga.
We want to know: which of these MMFF entries will you see during the long Christmas break? If you won't be watching any of these films, tell us why when you comment.
