Actress-TV host Anne Curtis is the latest Filipino celebrity to appear on popular US reality model search America's Next Top Model (ANTM), ABS-CBNNews.com reports. The star shared the news on her official Twitter account, @annecurtissmith. "The cat is out of the bag," she said. "I can finally announce it!! Yes, I will be on America's Next Top Model wearing the beautiful gowns of @francois888. Congratulations, Francis Libiran! You deserve the recognition."
Contestants from ANTM's 18th cycle will be wearing Filipino designer Francis Libiran's clothes for a challenge on the show. Anne wore four gowns from his collection in a photo shoot with local photographer Mark Nicdao. According to ABS-CBNNews.com, photos of Anne from the shoot will most likely be used in the video introducing Francis on the show.
An excited Anne tweeted on Sunday, April 22, "WAAAAAH! I wonder what @tyrabanks will say when she SEES the pictures? NERVOUS!!! Pasado kaya ako sa kanya as model? (Will I get a pass from her as a model?)" Supermodel Tyra Banks is the host of the show.
In a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot posted on YouTube, Francis said, "I picked Anne for this photo shoot because she represents the perfect Filipina for me."
The episode will be aired in the Philippines on April 30. Filipino designers featured previously on ANTM include Michael Cinco and Oliver Tolentino. Model Georgina Wilson has also appeared on the show in an episode featuring Filipino clothing brand Bench.
