Talent manager Annabelle Rama caused a scene at the wake of Dolphy last July 13, when she attacked showbiz reporter Chito Alcid with a cane, claiming that the journalist had provoked her.
In a report from ABSCBNNews.com, Annabelle had claimed that she was followed to the dining area by the group of Amalia Fuentes, whom she had an earlier confrontation with. When Annabelle accompanied her husband, Eddie Guttierez, to the washroom, she alleged that Chito, who was with Amalia’s group, had followed her, leading her to hit him with a cane.
The Guttierez matriarch later apologized to the Quizon family, insisting that she was “provoked by a fake reporter.”
On his part, Chito claims that he did not instigate the fight with Annabelle, and that he just happened to be staying at the table with Amalia.
“Ang sabi niya sinundan ko daw sa CR, hindi ko siya sinundan sa CR kasi I didn't know na nandoon siya,” he said. “At saka kung prinrovoke ko siya mayroon siyang Eddie Gutierrez na matangkad, mayroon siyang bodyguard na nandoon sa tabi niya. So how can I provoke, alam ng Panginoon 'yan (She said I followed her to the CR, but I didn't, because I didn't know that she was going to be there. And if I really provoked her, she had Eddie Guttierez with her who is tall, and she had a bodyguard beside her. So how can I provoke her, the Lord knows that)."
Chito is planning to file criminal charges against Annabelle, adding to the number of lawsuits the talent manager is currently facing. Annabelle had filed a libel complaint against Chito, Amalia and Nadia Montenegro last June 28.
