The sudden demise of Starstruck Batch 3’s Ultimate Male Survivor Marky Cielo last Sunday left the showbiz world reeling, even eclipsing Manny Pacquiao’s victory over Oscar Dela Hoya. Manny’s victory and Marky’s death shared Monday’s headlines.

This writer was among the first to view Marky’s remains in his home in Antipolo; there are still so many questions but we’ll respect the family’s call for privacy.

It was truly a heartbreaking sight; young stars, male and female, cried unabashed in front of Marky’s all-white coffin. Some—including the likes of close friends Mike Tan and Mart Escudero, and partner Kris Bernal—had to be taken away from the vicinity. Their painful cries made most of the mourners start crying without even seeing him yet. Marky will be missed.
