Actress Maja Salvador has admitted that she and Matteo Guidicelli have broken up. In the August 3 episode of the morning show KrisTV, Maja was asked by host Kris Aquino about her current relationship status. "Single" was the actress' succinct reply.
However, Maja also added that she and Matteo remain friends.
"Kasi ano pa ba ang sasabihin ko, pero magkaibigan kami," she was quoted as saying in an article by ABSCBNNews.com. "Sobrang magkaibigan kami. Kasi wala namang third party, parang nag-decide lang kami na i-end muna ang relationship kasi may priorities kaming dapat unahin (What else can I say, but that we’re friends. We're really close friends. There's no third party, we just decided to end our relationship so we can focus on our priorities.)."
However, Kim Chiu, who is one of Maja’s closest friends, shared that Matteo has not given up on Maja and is still trying to win her heart back.
"Pero alam niyo it's still there [the love], I know. Pinupuntahan po siya sa taping. Dinadalaw po siya (But you know the love is still there. He goes to her during tapings. He visits her)," Kim was quoted as saying in a different article. According to the The Healing star, Maja wants Matteo to exert more effort in getting her back.
"Opo, 'yun po talaga 'yung gusto niya, effort (Yes, that’s what she really wants, effort). But the effort, it's already there, just keep pushing."
