Luis Manzano Denies Rumors of Rocky Relationship with Jennylyn Mercado

Luis Manzano has cleared the rumor that his girlfriend, Jennylyn Mercado, was involved in Paolo Contis’s separation from his wife, Lian Paz. The actor said that Jennylyn was not the third party in Paolo’s relationship, and that their relationship is still as strong as ever.

“Actually, mas nagulat pa si Jen… sa balita (Jen was actually more surprised by the news.).” Luis was quoted as saying during the press conference for the upcoming movie This Guy’s In Love With You Mare in an article by PEP.ph.

“So, kumbaga, for me, you know, some things were blown out of proportion lang. Nagsalita ako, nagsalita na si Jen, nagsalita na rin si Paolo. So, wala… wala talaga. And mas nakakagulat talaga na apparently, nagkakalabuan kami (Jen was actually more surprised by the news. So, for me, you know, some things were just blown out of proportion. I have released my statement, Jen has spoken, Paolo has also spoken. So, there’s really nothing left to talk about. And the news that our relationship was apparently on the rocks was even more surprising.).”

He also said that even Jennylyn was clueless as to how her name became involved in the issue. “You know, kahit si Jen, 'yun rin ang gusto niyang malaman. Ang alam ko lang, nagsama sila sa Futbolilits, 'yun na lang 'yun (You know, even Jen wants to know that. The only thing I know was that they were together on the show Futbolilits, that’s all.).”

When asked about the possibility of marriage in the near future, Luis merely said that they still have a “long way to go.”

“We’re in a very serious relationship,” he remarked. “Kahit ako naman, ang dami ko pang kailangang gawin. I’m not saying na hindi ko naiisip. [We have a] long way to go. Kung marami pa akong dapat gawin bilang tao, bilang lalaki, bilang artista, bilang negosyante… talo lahat yun na kailangan niyang gawin bilang isang ina (I also have a lot to accomplish. I’m not saying that I’m not thinking of her. [We have a] Long way to go. If I still have to accomplish a lot as a person, as a man, as an artist, as a businessman… it all pales in comparison to what she has to accomplish as a mother.).”
