Queen of All Media Kris Aquino revealed in a post on her Twitter account, @itsmekrisaquino, that her marriage with basketball player James Yap has been annulled.  "Yes, I'm annulled and can only wish for James and me lasting happiness and genuine friendship for Bimby's sake," she said in her Tweet.

On news show Bandila, ABS-CBNNews.com reports, TV host Boy Abunda shed some light on the former couple's arrangement. He said the marriage was annulled because of "lack of authority of the solemnizing officer" and that Kris and James had already decided on how to divide their properties a year ago. Bimby (James Yap Jr.), Kris's son with James, will be retaining the Yap surname as mandated by the family code. James also has visitation rights.

"Alam mo, sabi ni Kris, she pays tribute to James na he's not greedy. Fair ang kanilang pag-uusap," Boy said on Bandila. "It doesn't call for celebration--she pointed this out--na kapag na-a-annul ang isang kasal, hindi ito dahilan para magbunyi at mag-celebrate. (Kris pointed out that when a marriage is annulled, it's not something you celebrate.)

Boy also had a one-on-one interview with Kris about the annulment, which will be shown on The Buzz on Sunday, February 5.

Kris is currently in Hong Kong with her kids, Joshua and Bimby, to celebrate her birthday. She will be turning 41 on February 14.
