Kim Chiu Thrilled to Be Working with Vilma Santos for The Healing

When Kim Chiu’s handler told her that she has an offer to do a movie alongside Vilma Santos, with Chito S. Roño as the director, she immediately agreed to do it, the star revealed during a press conference for the Star Cinema movie The Healing held at ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theater.

"Noong sinabi nga po ng handler ko na, 'O, Kim, may movie ka. Kay Miss Vilma Santos at kay Direk Chito [Roño],’ [I replied,]' Okay na po, ate,'" she told PEP.ph. "Wala nang tanong-tanong kung ano pong kuwento, ano pong role ko. Wala na, agad-agad (When my handler told me, 'Kim, you have a movie. It's with Miss Vilma Santos and Director Chito Roño,’ I replied, 'Okay, I'll do it.' I didn't ask about the plot or about my role. I agreed immediately.)!"

At the event, Vilma also revealed that she was the one who picked Kim to be her costar and that she found the young actress' rawness and professionalism very appealing.

"Yung pagiging raw ni Kim, and then napapanood ko siya, she's good," she was quoted as saying in an earlier article by PEP.ph. "Tapos nakita ko pa sa shooting, she's very professional (Kim's raw acting, and the times I was able to watch her, she's good. Then I saw how she was while shooting, she's very professional.)."

"So kaya kong sabihin na hindi ako nagkamali," she continued. "Talagang malaking bagay sa akin, at masaya ako that I chose Kim, at kasama ko si Kim sa movie (So now I can say that I didn't make a mistake. It's really a big deal for me, and I'm happy that I chose Kim and that I'm with her in this movie.)."

For her part, Kim says she is thrilled to have been personally chosen by the Star for All Seasons.

"Parang ang sarap po ng pakiramdam at ngayon ko lang nalaman na parang pinili pala ako ni Ms. Vilma Santos para makasali po sa pelikulang ito (It feels great, and I only learned just now that Ms. Vilma Santos was the one who picked me to be in this movie.)."
