After coming back from her trip to Europe in October and her various commitments abroad in November, actress-TV host KC Concepcion finally answered questions about the status of her relationship with actor Piolo Pascual in an interview with Boy Abunda on showbiz talk show The Buzz, PEP.ph reports.
A distraught KC was visibly affected as she admitted she and Piolo were no longer together. KC chose not to get into the details of their breakup, but she told Boy, "May mga hinahanap ako na basic lang na hahanapin ng isang babae sa isang boyfriend, sa isang lalaki. (There were basic things I was looking for that any girl looks for in a boyfriend, in a guy.)"
Even when there were times when I couldn't understand him, I just accepted whatever he told me because our friends told me that was how his personality was)," she explained. (If there are things I don't agree should be done to a woman, I just accept them because I believe he's a good person.)"
At this point, KC couldn't help crying. Saka sobra-sobra talaga akong nagtiwala. Sobra. (There are things I just can't stomach, things I can't accept. And it's my fault, Tito Boy, because I wanted this too, right? So it's my fault because I fought for this. And I trusted him too much.)"
This prompted Boy to ask her if there was a third party involved in their breakup, but KC declined to answer the question.
The breakup was a painful experience for KC. She realized that she didn't just feel hurt; she was angry, as well. (Sometimes I suddenly start crying because I'm not okay, after all. And then, Piolo just laughs when I see him doing interviews. He keeps joking around. I keep thinking, 'How come you're like that and I'm like this?' How come I'm still the only one with feelings like this in the end?)"
KC said that she would never divulge what caused their breakup--even to her mom and the rest of her family--because she didn't want anyone to get hurt. She also said Piolo asked for a second chance, but she no longer wanted to try again after giving him too many opportunities to do so in the past. (When it got to the eight chance, I just realized not all problems can be solved with romantic gestures. Not all problems can be solved through laughter.)"
As of press time, Piolo has not yet issued a statement about the breakup.
Meanwhile, Megastar Sharon Cuneta said in an interview on Paparazzi Showbiz Exposed on November 27 that she understood why KC broke her silence and asked the public to respect her decision. "Pero napakabuti ng puso ng anak ko (But my daughter's got a good heart)," she is quoted as saying on PEP.ph. Yung nais niyang magprotekta pa rin kasi nga they had something, so ako, I respect that. (In spite of everything, she still has compassion for others. She wants to protect him because they had something together, so I respect that.)"
