Katy Perry to Move in with John Mayer

Pop singer Katy Perry and her current beau, rocker John Mayer, are planning to move in together in a few weeks. An article on The Sun reports that the two artists, who have been dating for only four months, were recently spotted house-hunting in Los Angeles and are hoping to move into a rented home for Christmas.

According to the article, the two have been spending plenty of time together every day. “They hang out at John’s place, cooking, watching movies and playing music,” a source was quoted as saying in the story. “They take the odd trip away but generally they’re trying to keep it behind closed doors.”

It was also reported that Katy, who divorced British comedian Russell Brand in December 2011, has already introduced John to her parents. “Introducing John to her parents was a huge step for Katy and it proves she’s 100 percent committed,” the source added. “She acknowledges she rushed into it a little quickly, but she is determined to trust her instincts and follow her heart. Despite what the cynics may think, she is looking forward to moving in with John and says she’s happier than she’s been in a very long time.”

Despite these big steps in their relationship, some of Katy’s friends are said to be pessimistic about her involvement with John, who has a reputation as a player. “Lots of people are willing them to fail,” said the source. “They row a bit and have quite a turbulent up-and-down relationship, despite it only being a few months old. Many of her friends are certain it will all end in tears. But that’s brought them closer in a way. It’s given them an ‘us against the world’ mentality.”
