At her press conference for Eden Cheese, actress Judy Ann Santos said she understood why Megastar Sharon Cuneta fought back against haters on Twitter, PEP.ph reports. "Siyempre may pagkakataon na bilang ina, kung ikaw lang naman ang aalipustahin, okay lang (As a mother, there are times when you're okay with getting hurt)," she is quoted as saying. "Ako, kaya ko. Pero kapag anak mo na ang kinanti, kahit naman siguro sinong santa, lalabas at lalabas ang sungay. (I can take it, but if my kids get hurt, even a saint would sprout horns.)"
Sharon had recently replied to users on Twitter that were posting negative comments against her and her eldest daughter, KC Concepcion. In her tweets on her official account, @sharon_cuneta12, Sharon hinted that some of the haters were fans of actor Piolo Pascual. KC went public with her breakup with Piolo in November 2011.
"Since you won't stop bashing me and my daughter and it's all the same to you--maybe it's time I talk and tell the whole REAL story. Okay? Tutal pareho lang eh. Tahimik kami bash kayo ng bash. Eh di kami naman kaya! (After all, the results are the same. Even if we keep quiet, you'll just keep bashing us. It's our turn!)" Sharon said in one tweet.
"KC never did anything to hurt [Piolo]," she said in reply to a tweet from user @nanayko2. "He hurt her. And yes, we KNOW his fans are bashing her. We never start, we just react. Be careful. Nananahimik pa kami sa lagay na yan. Tama na kasi we should all just move on. (We're still lying low at this point. Let's stop this because we should all just move on.)"
Juday said Sharon was a mother, which was why what she did was understandable. After all, if Juday experienced the same thing, she would also feel hurt. "Kapag naging magulang sila, mararamdaman nila ang pinanggagalingan ng mga magulang ngayon na kapag sinaktan ang anak mo, automatic, lalaban ka (If the bashers become parents themselves, they will understand how parents right now feel when their children get hurt. You fight for them automatically)," Juday said.
She also said she felt that the bashing stemmed from Piolo Pascual and KC Concepcion's breakup and urged fans to let the two artists move on and be happy. "Dalawang tao lang naman ang involved dito; hindi tayo kasama riyan. Naiintindihan ko na may mga taong gustong protektahan ang mga idolo nila. Pero sa ginagawa nilang pagpuproteksiyon, napapasama rin pati iniidolo nila. (Only two people are involved here, and that doesn't include us. I understand that there are people who just want to protect their idols. But because of what they're doing, they're also making their idols look bad.)"
