John Lloyd Cruz Fires Back at Critics of His Rumored Relationship with Angelica Panganiban

During John Lloyd Cruz’s taped interview on the September 2 episode of Sunday talk show The Buzz, TV show host Boy Abunda asked him to share his thoughts on the “Perfect Sunday” picture that showed him and actress Angelica Panganiban together. The said photo eventually made rounds on the photo-sharing site Instagram.

But instead of answering Boy’s question, John Lloyd vented his opinions on the criticisms both he and Angelica received since rumors spread that they're an item. “Bago man yung tungkol sa amin ni Angelica, nakakatawa minsan kapag nakakarinig ka sa mga tao na as if alam nila ang pinagdadaanan mo (Even before this issue about me and Angelica came out, it’s sometimes funny to hear things from people as if they know what you’re going through),” the actor was quoted as saying in an article by PEP.ph.

“Hanggang sa punto na kung ano ang perception nila, kung ano ang opinyon nila, unti-unti, tumatagal, nabubuo, 'yun na ang totoo sa kanila (It could reach the point where what they perceive and what their opinions are would slowly become the truth for them.).”

John Lloyd also said that he’s waiting for the right time to clear the rumors about his alleged relationship with Angelica. “Ang pinanggagalingan ko, something this special, ayoko itong isabay sa promo ng pelikula ko. It deserves a better time… Ang sa akin lang, yung sa amin, gusto kong bigyan ng pagpapahalaga, na sa tingin ko, karapat-dapat para sa amin (From where I’m coming from, something this special shouldn't coincide with the promotion of my movie. It deserves a better time… For me, I want to give importance to what’s ours, something I think we deserve.).”
