Jennylyn Mercado Loses P300,000

Actress Jennylyn Mercado was yesterday forced to pull out from joining the Ironman 70.3 Philippine Triathlon Race when she mysteriously lost the P300,000 she intended for her and her family's hotel reservations and plane tickets.

According to an article by PEP.ph, Jennylyn had entrusted the money and the responsibility of booking the trip to her best friend, who also handled her past excursions. The actress initially planned to bring her whole family and her boyfriend, Luis Manzano, to Cebu. The group was scheduled to stay at the Shangri-La Mactan hotel.

Jennylyn had fully prepared for the trip, not knowing that she would be forced to cancel her plans. She even finished all her work obligations ahead of time so she could give her all in the competition.

"Actually, itong week na 'to, talagang pinagkasya ko ang dalawang araw na taping sa isang araw (Actually, for this week, I squeezed in two days' worth of taping in just one day)," a distressed Jennylyn told PEP.ph yesterday.

"Nalaman ko na lang kaninang umaga na… naka-receive po ako ng e-mail po mula dito sa best friend ko na nagkaroon nga daw po ng problema," she said. "Hindi ko pa rin po malaman kung ano talaga ang naging problema bakit hindi matutuloy. Naguguluhan pa rin po kami. Siguro soon, malalaman din natin (I just learned this morning... I received an e-mail from my best friend that there has been a problem. I still don't know what the problem was and why it was cancelled. We're all puzzled. Maybe soon, we'll find out.)."

Jennylyn is planning to know all the details first before she takes action against her friend, whom she refuses to name. "Okay lang 'yung pera, e. Pero 'yung friendship, 'yung trust na 'nandun, nakakalungkot na bigla na lang mawawala na ganun lang (Money's not an issue. But the friendship, the trust that was there, it's saddening that they disappeared just like that.)."
