27-year-old actress Heart Evangelista says she does not mind the 16-year age gap between her and her boyfriend Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero, who is 43. “It’s nice rin naman. I learn so much,” she was quoted as saying in an interview with PEP.ph.
She also shared that her parents also approve of the senator. “Kung saan naman ako masaya, 'dun din sila (As long as I’m happy, they’re happy for me as well),” she said. “They’re very supportive with me.”
Heart also said that she’s glad she and Chiz understand each other’s responsibilities as public figures. “Very supportive naman siya sa trabaho ko. At supportive din naman ako sa trabaho niya (He’s very supportive when it comes to my job. Likewise, I’m also supportive when it comes to his job),” she said.
When asked if she’s feeling any pressure in her new role as a senator’s girlfriend, she replied, “A… hindi ko pa napi-feel ang pressure (Ah, I haven’t felt the pressure yet.).”
As for joining politics herself, Heart said that she’s not thinking of it at the moment. “No, I don’t think of that. I’m so busy with what I’m doing now,” she said. “… It’s something that I don’t think of na because I have so much that I wanted to do pa, e.”
Despite both being busy with their respective careers, Heart is confident that she and Chiz will still be able to spend lots of time with each other.“Kung gugustuhin n’yo namang magkita, magkikita at magkikita kayo (If you want to see each other, you’d really find a way to do so),” she said. “In a relationship, you do make time for each other.”
