Writers' strike and scandals aside, 2008 made a very interesting year for entertainment.

Some of us rejoiced when the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike ended in peace and breathed life back into our favorite TV shows. A lot of us tuned in to the Summer Olympics in Beijing coverage, cheered for our favorite athletes, and rooted for Team Philippines.
Some of us also turned into U.S. election-related entertainment, the highlight of which was Tina Fey's unforgettable impersonation of Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin in several episodes of Saturday Night Live. Meanwhile, movie buffs also had their fill of blockbusters like Tropic Thunder, Iron Man, and Twilight, as well as legendary and critically-acclaimed movies such as The Dark Knight and Wall-E.
Music junkies were also treated to a barrage of concerts—featuring some of the biggest local and international artists, no less. Foreign acts who graced the Philippine stage for one-night affairs and more include solo stars Rihanna and Chris Brown, and bands Maroon 5, Incubus, Daughtry, Third Eye Blind, and Panic at the Disco! However, the most memorable music event was arguably the spectacular yet short-lived Eraserheads Reunion Concert, attended by more than 60,000 fans.
If you truly enjoyed 2008's brand of entertainment, tell us: which entertainment gem became the highlight of your year?
