Mara and Clara 20 years later. Judy Ann Santos began her career as a junior superstar via an afternoon soap in ABS-CBN, Mara Clara. Juday then became the consummate teary-eyed girl, while her antagonist Gladys Reyes was tagged as the new kind of kontrabida.
They never worked together since, save for doing a movie or two and Gladys’ guest appearance in Judy Ann Santos Drama Special.
Now, ABS-CBN is bringing back the tandem in an upcoming romantic-comedy show, George and Cecil—this time not as warring girls but as best friends.
Conceptualized and to be directed by Joey Reyes, the program will soon premiere in the Sunday lineup of ABS-CBN. Their real-life partners Ryan Agoncillo and Christopher Roxas will also be in the cast.
