Songbird over YouTube sensation. American Idol Season 7’s David Archuleta was in Indonesia recently to promote his debut album. A Filipino reporter asked AI’s younger David if he knows Charice Pempengco, the Filipina discovered through YouTube and who is now doing the rounds of several US shows like Oprah and Ellen.
David answered, “I know Regine Velasquez of the Philippines, and she is a good singer.”
When it was Regine’s turn to react, she said she was flattered but surprised: she wonders how David came to know her.
Regine will host a new singer search at GMA-7, Are You The Next Big Star? which will premiere on Saturday, replacing the second season of Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5?
