Heads are rolling. There seems to be a bloody bowling happening in ABS-CBN with three pins successively hit by the pink slip. First to get the pink slip months ago was Alfie Lorenzo, manager of Judy Ann Santos, who was indefinitely suspended from his Saturday night DZMM radio show. He has since been replaced by another colleague, Ambet Nabus, in that time slot.
Fast forward to last week: Ogie Diaz and Cristy Fermin were summarily terminated from their TV and radio jobs just three days apart from each other. First, Ogie was slammed with a non-renewal of contract signed by ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Head Maria Ressa, which takes him out of his Umagang Kay Ganda daily morning show and his daily DZMM morning radio show. Then Cristy was given a suspension from The Buzz and her DZMM radio show that would last until December 31 this year, as signed in tandem by TV’s Cory Vidanes and radio’s Peter Musgni.
You may ask, who’s next? We shudder to think about that one; loyalty is becoming nothing but a by-product these days.

Star. Iza Calzado’s new record is hard to beat. In the last quarter of this year, she will be seen in seven movies: three of which are indies and four are mainstream films. Iza is set to star in the joint GMA Films and Regal Films romance flick, One True Love, with Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, as well as in Regal’s festival entry Desperadas 2 with Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, and Marian. She will also support Eat Bulaga comedians Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola in their first starrer from APT Entertainment, Scaregiver, and has agreed to do a cameo for the Robin Padilla horror movie, Sundo, from GMA Films (Iza is shown in the Sundo publicity photo courtesy of GMA-7 with baller Simon Atkins). Did we also mention she will be doing Fuchsia for Joel Lamangan, Adela for Adolf Alix, and Manila for Martin Raya—all of which are digital movies slated for this year, too?

Blindly. Matinee idol M seems to be enjoying his sort of independence from his ‘tatay’ these days. Gone are the days when we have to see ‘tatay’ near M in the most favored computer café in Tomas Morato. Now we see him alone or with matinee idol friend P playing guns—computer guns, that is. We can think of three reasons for this: One, ‘tatay’ is now secure with his M to let him be alone. Two, M has been craving for independence and finally got it. Three, there’s LQ afoot. Scratch the third reason, since we saw ‘tatay’ in the pavilion of their TV network recently, with M sitting dutifully beside him.
