Christmas is just a few weeks away and some of us have already begun playing Christmas songs as soon as the "-ber" months kicked in. Riding with the popularity of Christmas songs this time of year, a lot of artists come up with their special holiday albums containing their take on common holiday songs, while some come up with their own compositions. Some of us love the idea of our favorite artists singing our best-loved Christmas tunes. Tori Amos, for one, has her own lovely version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Josh Groban's "Noel" made history last year at the Billboard 200, breaking the record for Kenny G's "Miracles" back in 1994. Boy bands like Backstreet Boys even released holiday songs back in the 90s.
Our very own local bands are not spared from the holiday bug--remember Eraserheads' "Fruitcake" (both the song and the album)? Just last week, the Bloomfields even released "Pasko Natin 'To," a Christmas album which features an original song, "Pasko Natin 'To," and their take on "Himig Pasko" by the APO Hiking Society and "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" by Perry Como and Stevie Wonder, among others.
So we're wondering: Do you like Christmas tunes sung by popular artists? Would you buy their Christmas albums, knowing you can listen to them at a particular time of the year only?
