Derek Ramsay Confirms Breakup with Angelica Panganiban on Twitter

The actor says he wishes things had turned out differently.

Actor Derek Ramsay recently revealed that he and long-time girlfriend Angelica Panganiban were going through a rough patch in their relationship. On May 14, he confirmed on his Twitter account, @IAmDerekRamsay, that he and Angel had already broken up.

"Guys, we truly appreciate all your concerns," he tweeted. "Even though Angel and I are no longer together, we still have the utmost respect for one another."

In subsequent tweets, he replied to detractors who were judging either him or Angel for the breakup. "There was no wasted time. I loved every minute we had together," he replied to @UnicaLei. The user had commented, "After all that you've been through, you'll give up just like this? Upset!"

"I'm not proud of the breakup!" he said in another tweet. "How I wish things were different. I can't be selfish and consider only my feelings."

He also confessed that he still had feelings for Angel. "I still love her," he said in reply to user @divinaOrtega, who said she watched Angelica's guesting on talk show Kris TV on the same day. In the episode, Angel got emotional when the topic veered to love.

Derek, who had previously defended Angel against rumors of a relationship between the actress and actor John Lloyd Cruz, said no third party was involved in their breakup. He also dismissed comments saying actress Sam Pinto caused the end of his relationship with Angel.

As of press time, Angelica has not released any statements about the breakup.
