On actress
Claudine Barretto's
32nd birthday on July 20, she says the biggest present she received was reconciling with older sister
Gretchen Barretto. Claudine and Gretchen have been involved in a feud for a while now, one of the reasons being how they were pitted against each other in terms of their showbiz careers,
PEP.ph reports. "
Binigay na sa akin ng Diyos ang ate ko. Okay
na kami ni Gretchen.
Wala na akong mahihiling pa (God gave me my sister. We're okay now. I don't need anything else)," she is quoted as saying during an interview on GMA News TV's
In The Limelight. The reunion was emotional, Claudine says, with both of them crying tears of joy. "
Yung bugso ng emotions,
hindi mawawala yun (That sudden leap of emotions just doesn't disappear),"
she is quoted as saying. "
Yung sorries.
Yung maraming months
na nawala sa amin, hindi na mababalik yun. So, when it all happened,
sinabi ko talaga sa sarili ko hindi na mauulit yun. Hinding-hindi na mawawala ang kapatid ko sa buhay ko. Hindi na ako papayag. (We said sorry. We can't take back all those months that we lost, so I told myself this won't happen again. I won't let my sister disappear from my life again.)"
Claudine says their feud and reconciliation has taught her to really appreciate her siblings: "
Ang sarap-sarap pala ng may kapatid. (It's really nice to have a sibling.)" While she wonders why they had to go through so much to get to this moment, she's glad that the fight is over. "
Na-realize
namin na we cannot live without each other
pala."
