Thanks to her talent and charisma, Eugene Domingo is currently enjoying success as a comedienne and actress. In January, for example, she was nominated for Best Actress at the 2012 Asia Film Awards for her starring role in the indie film Ang Babae sa Septic Tank.

Outside of being an accomplished figure in the showbiz industry, however, Eugene remains a simple woman. In the March 2012 issue of Good Housekeeping, Eugene reveals that she prefers to take a wholesome approach to life. Two years ago, she decided to live a healthier lifestyle from modifying her eating habits--she's a pesco-vegetarian now--to ridding herself of her vices--she stopped smoking and started avoiding alcohol.

Now, Eugene is both healthier and happier. Want to make the most of your life like she does? Read on for her tips to living a happy life!

1. UNPACK IMMEDIATELY.

Pagkagaling ko sa work, agad-agad, maglilinis ako ng bag or ng wallet! Ayoko ng wallet na maraming papel (When I get home from work, I immediately clean my bag or wallet. I don't want a wallet filled with papers),” she shares. This is a good way to move on, Eugene adds.

2. LIVE WITH LITTLE.

Ang isang bagay pagka hindi mo ginamit ng tatlong buwan, baka hindi mo naman talaga kailangan. (If you don't use something for three months, then maybe you don't really need it.)”

3. LET YOUR INNER CHILD GUIDE YOU.

Eugene looks to her childhood a lot to guide her in her life. She realized what you really want are the things you fixated on as a five-year-old. “Kung ano ’yung dino-drawing mo nun, ’yun na ’yun, di ba? Tatay, nanay, anak, bahay kubo, may ibon, may puno, may bukid. (Whatever you drew then, that's it, right? Father, mother, children, nipa hut, there are birds, trees, a farm.) Simple life!”
