Despite the sobriety of President Noynoy Aquino's state of the nation address (SONA) last Monday, July 26, 2010, we found Batasan brightened and the mood lightened by the colorful fashionalista style exhibited by many of the attendees. Although ternos were still the reigning fashion, unlike the inaugural ceremony of P-Noy on June 30, yellow was not the color of the day, although it certainly made several appearances--notably, Assunta de Rossi's gown brought a dose of sunshine to the hall. Instead, we saw gowns and ternos in a rainbow of colors and embellishments.
