Angelica Panganiban Says Piolo Pascual's Son Approves of Her

After starring together in the film Every Breath U Take, actress Angelica Panganiban and actor Piolo Pascual will be teaming up for an upcoming ABS-CBN soap called Apoy sa Dagat, ABS-CBNNews.com reports. The two stars' last teleserye together was Mangarap Ka, which aired eight years ago.

When asked about whether or not Angelica's relationship with Piolo could turn into romance, the actress said in a joking manner, "Ang alam ko kasi approve sa 'kin si Iñigo (Pascual's son). Nasa labas siya; nagna-nod siya. (What I know is Iñigo approves of me. He's outside; he's nodding.)"  Both stars are currently single. Piolo's relationship with actress KC Concepcion ended in November 2011, while Angelica and long-time boyfriend Derek Ramsay broke up in May 2012.

But Angelica made no further jests and clarified that it was her friendship with Piolo that has made her more at ease working with him on set. "Si Papa P kasi, sobra akong komportable makasama siya at makatrabaho (I feel really comfortable working and spending time with Papa P)," she is quoted as saying. "Hindi ako nahihiya sa kanya. Sobrang kapal na nga ng mukha ko 'pag kasama ko siya. May ganoon siyang personality eh. Sobra kang magiging relaxed, 'di ka kakabahan. (I don't get shy. I'm very confident when I'm with him. He has that kind of personality. You'll be so relaxed; you won't feel nervous.)"

In a past interview with PEP.ph done during promotions for Every Breath U Take, Angelica had exclaimed about Piolo's good looks. "Pag nakikita mo siya, masaya na ang araw mo. Ayokong umuwi talaga pag nandiyan siya. Gusto ko tititigan ko lang siya hanggang ma-pack up. (When you see him, you know you're going to have a happy day. I really don't want to go home when he's still around. I just want to stare at him until we pack up.)"

The actress told ABS-CBNNews.com that both she and Piolo would be exposing skin in the new soap, which would be largely set at sea. Other cast members include Diether Ocampo, Angel Aquino, Liza Lorena, and Sylvia Sanchez.
