Vicky Morales is definitely one of the most beloved faces in local TV. With her sweet smile and endearing personality, the Good Housekeeping Philippines’ September 2012 cover girl never fails to radiate positivity through her current affairs shows, Wish Ko Lang and Good News.
Despite her busy schedule, Vicky, who is a mother of four, still manages to spend plenty of time with her family. Read on for a few of her secrets to making time for her loved ones.
1. TRY TO DO AS MANY THINGS AS POSSIBLE TOGETHER.
“We do everything together as a family. My daughter really loves to play with her brothers. When I take them out swimming, she also goes with them.”
2. SCHEDULE YOUR WORK AROUND THE SCHEDULES OF YOUR KIDS.
“As much as possible, I try to schedule my work around the schedule of my kids. So when they’re at school, I’m doing my own thing, but it also increases my chances of seeing them longer… Eventually, kids will have their own friends, and now that they enjoy being with me a lot, I really want to relish that. I don’t want to regret or tell myself, “Dapat pala I reduced my workload or spent more time with them.”
3. PRIORITIZE YOUR FAMILY ON WEEKENDS.
“Weekends are sacred and people know that. Weekends are strictly for family. It’s also when I get to spend time with my immediate family.”
4. CONSTANTLY COMMUNICATE WITH THEM.
“We [me and my husband] like to travel. But it’s kind of hard, with the kids, the eldest who is four years old, already know [that the trip is just for me and my husband]... but thankfully, there’s now Skype, so we Skype a lot and that helps.”
