20 International Stars You Didn’t Know Had Filipino Blood

A Filipino-American actress is nominated for the Oscars this year. Find out which other celebrities have Filipino roots. By Belle Yambao

Among the nominees at the Oscars this year is 14-year-old Filipino-American Hailee Steinfeld. Born in California to a Filipino mother, Hailee is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie True Grit. Meanwhile, Filipino-American R&B artist Bruno Mars, who is heading to Manila this April, currently tops the Billboard Hot 100 list with his song "Grenade."

The others on the list were interesting, but everyone has known for a long time that Nicole Scherzinger, Rob Schneider, Vanessa Hudgens, and apl.de.ap have Filipino blood.

How about Phoebe Cates and Vanessa Minnillo?

wow i feel very proud whenever i hear that the hollywood is conquered by filipino/half filipino artist :)

anyway di ba madami pa filipino/half filipino artist na hindi lang ganun sikat sa hollywood.. i think meron sa korea na he is in a group or what na half filipino and half korean.. not sure.. want to know more pa :)

I want to know about this half-Filipino, half-Korean too, haha. In the Western music industry, there's also DJ Virman from Far East Movement of "Like a G6" fame (he's Filipino-American).

great list! i knew steven mcqueen was related to the great steve mcqueen but didn't know his grandma was pinay.

the list should've also included queer eye for the straight girl's honey labrador whose dad is Filipino.

I would be surprised if the President of the US is a half Filipino.LOL
