Melanie and Blue were classmates back in high school. Melanie shares, "I wasn't interested in him back them. I called him 'nguso' because of his pouty lips. Seven years later, we talked again over Facebook. When I learned that he's into photography, I asked him if he wanted to do a photo shoot with me." Eventually, Melanie and Blue began dating, and three years in into their relationship, Blue proposed.
Blue proposed to Melanie in Singapore. Prior to the event, Blue talked to her about being decoys or accomplices to one of their friend's proposal. Little did she know that it was the other way around. Melanie narrates, "I was first blindfolded by my friend. When we got to the venue, I was waiting for my friend to propose but it was Blue who surprised me with his proposal."
Melanie and Blue tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Manila. Details in emerald green, blue, and aqua painted a cool atmosphere at the couple's reception held at Manila Ocean Park.
For the big day, Melanie and Blue prepared several DIY projects to showcase their creativity. Some of their projects were the headpiece, shoes, invites, bridal bouquet, and table numbers.
The couple poured their hearts into planning their wedding. Melanie shares, "A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and we wanted to make it memorable not only for us but also for our families and friends." She tells other couples who are planning their own wedding, "Think outside the box and enjoy every stage of it. Also, preparing DIY projects is a great bonding activity for you and your partner."
