Every woman who has walked down the aisle knows that being a bride is no easy task. But with the right people, her wedding can be the easiest occasion a bride will plan in her life.
Liane Tablante, chief makeup artist of D'Makeup Room Manila, gifts brides with a stress-free wedding by giving them tips to help them with their big day preps. She shares, "As a makeup artist, I have worked with numerous brides. I have witnessed wedding day preparations from the craziest, nerve-wracking sorts to the most smooth-sailing and solemn ones. With all of my experiences, I'd like to share some tips to make sure the bride's beauty preparations are stress-free so that she can enjoy every minute of their special occasion instead of stressing out on the nitty-gritties of this day." After all, a calm bride exudes an aura of serene beauty.
Prepare pegs for your makeup.
You can help your makeup artist deliver your desired look by preparing pegs during your trial makeup. This is to avoid a scenario where in the bride assumes that the makeup artist already knows what she wants and ends up not liking what the makeup artist and the hairstylist did. As a result, the bride will ask the creative team to re-do the look.
Get a separate holding room for the bride.
This will allow you to have your own space on your big day, away from the chaos of other people getting ready for the wedding. It will also help the makeup artist give you a flawless finish for your big walk down the aisle.
Stick to the number of heads for the makeup.
Minimize additional makeup requests from other attendees on the wedding day. Makeup artists also have schedules to follow and additional heads to doll up might mean having to rush the makeup of the bride.
You have to keep in mind that you will have to be prepared for this physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding day. Do not deprive your body of the strength that it needs. After all, you wouldn't want your body to fail you on this most important day. A skipped meal will also take effect on how you look on your big day.
Ask help from couturier.
Make sure that your dressmaker is present on your big day. They have to be there during the preps to make sure that the dress is photographed nicely as part of the pre-wedding shoot. They also have to be there to assist you as you slowly fit into your gown. This is to ensure that all beads, lace, and every little detail of the dress are still in place even after you wear it, and that it complements your hair and makeup.
Lastly, Liane relays, "The wedding day can be exciting, nerve-wracking, stressful, crazy, happy and unforgettable rolled into one. How you, your suppliers and your guests would describe it a few days after your wedding will really depend a lot on how you plan it. Remember, you do not have to be alone in doing this big task. Make sure that you get suppliers not because of their name or their price, but because you are confident that they have the experience to give you all the help that you need on your wedding day. The truth of the matter is, the success of your wedding is dependent on your suppliers as it is to you. The higher the price of the supplier the higher the client's satisfaction is not always the case. Ask around, get some testimonies, and do your own research. After all, the happily-ever-after of your most important day is on their hands."
